Rejoicing over Beauty and Truth

 

Arms flung overhead, facing the sea and its sunset, the young woman in Ocean Breeze is in a state of rejoicing, gladness, and joy.

Too often, our rejoicing is stilted, stuck in an establishment setting where we raise our arms while looking around to see if anyone else is doing the same. This "rejoicing" is one done by peer pressure, and it completely misses the mark.

True rejoicing does not require the lifting of one's arms, but when it does -- as the woman is doing in Ocean Breeze -- this action takes place far away from a building or a group, because the expression of such feeling is a very precious and private matter.
